The Average Price of Cosmetic Surgery

As the old adage goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  But it would certainly help, if you, yourself, immediately recognize that beauty once you look in the mirror.  This is where cosmetic surgery comes in.  A few alterations could turn you from a boy or girl next door to the next big discovery in the celebrity world. The only thing that stands between you and that dream is an operation.  So, how much is a cosmetic surgery procedure anyway?

What is Cosmetic Surgery?

Before we tackle the prices, we should know what we’re getting ourselves into, first.  Cosmetic surgery is any surgical alteration aimed to enhance the patient’s appearance.  It could be improving the details of certain body parts or losing excess fat, all in all, leading to having better looks.  In doing so, you’ll gain more confidence and have much improved sex appeal.  You’ll feel good about yourself; you’ll also get more romantic prospects – provided that the operation was done, seamlessly.

Price Factors of Cosmetic Surgery

The prices of cosmetic surgery, like with any service, has a lot of price factors, meaning clinics have different rates from others.  If you recognize the aspects affecting the prices of operations, you can save much cash and have better looks, in the process.  Just be selective.  Consider these factors when selecting a clinic:

  • Clinic’s/doctor’s reputation
  • Location
  • Income of communities surrounding the clinic
  • Amount and type of drugs to be used for the operation
  • Difficulty of the operation
  • The equipment to be used for the operation
  • The clinic’s popularity

Aside from considering the price factors, when allocating your budget, note other expenses such as transportation.  Being frugal certainly limits your expenditures.

Average Cosmetic Surgery Prices

Cosmetic surgery is done on quite a number of body parts and entails an array of operations, sometimes done in succession.  The goal of most patients is to not only look good, but also to have a proportional torso.  A single operation may not be enough, if you want a makeover, so you should have loads of cash to spare.  Remember, cosmetic surgery is far from cheap, as many of the procedures are tagged at over a thousand dollars.

  • Breast Enlargement – Breast enlargement is a very popular procedure, since society, in general, views large bosoms as sexy, attractive, and beautiful.  No wonder lots of women, especially celebrities, undergo the operation.  Fitting silicone implants, on the average, is priced at $4100, while enlarging your breasts through an injected saline solution costs about $3600.  Silicone implants, more expensive as they are, are preferred by more people, since the results are permanent, until you decide to have them removed.
  • Breast Lift – Having large breasts is not enough.  Lifting them a bit, which makes them look more firm and pert, adds a lot of sexiness and provides sleeker contours on your torso.  The operation would cost you around $4300.  Well, who needs a push-up bra, if you have an exceptionally done breast lift?
  • Liposuction – Having too much excess fat is generally equated to very low sex appeal, which is why a lot of obese people have confidence issues.  Liposuction addresses this problem, as suction tubes are stuck to the fatty portions of the torso, removing or reducing excess fat.  It is the quickest way to have a better-looking figure.  The operation costs around $2700.
  • Smart Liposuction – Liposuction may suck out excess fat in an instant, but it also comes with a lot of risks.  As a result, doctors developed a safer and less invasive form of the procedure – smart liposuction.  It uses laser, sound waves, or ultrasound to break fat cells and shape the body to an ideal figure.  The procedure is marked at over $3000.
  • Facelift – Have you ever wished that your nose was more pert, your lips smaller or your cheeks more pronounced? For the various facial concerns, the facelift addresses them all, and then turns your face into a picture of beauty.  It is tagged at about $6300, more expensive than most procedures, since tweaking facial features requires a lot of skill and medical equipment.
  • Lower Body Lift – The lower body lift, one of the priciest cosmetic surgery procedures, results in a dramatic change in the shape, appearance, and girth of your lower torso.  Given the size of the lower body, the operation is pretty challenging on the surgeon’s part.  It is priced, on the average, at nearly $8000.
  • Breast Reduction – For many people, a proportional body looks much better than having large breasts.  So, as a result, they want to decrease their breast size, to garner sleeker contours.  Men with lumpy chests also go for the operation.  This procedure should cost you around $5600.  Removing breast implants is much cheaper, though.  You would need to shell out only $2100 for the procedure.
